Biomedicine and Chemical Sciences

Biomedicine and Chemical Sciences (BCS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal covering biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, public health, biotechnology, and chemical sciences.

Authors should read these guidelines before submitting a manuscript and ensure that the submission meets the journal's requirements.

Types of Manuscripts

BCS considers the following types of submissions:

• Original Research Articles
• Review Articles
• Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses

• Clinical Research Articles

All manuscripts must be original and appropriate to the scope of the journal.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be submitted as Microsoft Word files (.doc or .docx).

• Language: English
• Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
• Line spacing: Double
• Margins: 1 inch on all sides
• Page numbers: Consecutive numbering

Authors are responsible for the clarity, accuracy, and language quality of their manuscripts.

Manuscript Structure

The title page should include:

• Full title of the manuscript
• Names of all authors
• Institutional affiliations
• Corresponding author's name and contact details
• Email address of the corresponding author
• ORCID iD, where available

Abstract

The abstract should briefly describe the purpose, methods, main findings, and conclusions of the study.

For original research, a structured abstract with the following headings is recommended:- Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion

The abstract should not exceed 250 words.

Keywords

Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately describe the manuscript.

Main Text

The structure should be appropriate to the type of manuscript. Original research articles will generally include:

• Introduction
• Materials and Methods
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusion

Review articles and case reports should be organized according to the nature of the work and the relevant reporting requirements.

Tables and Figures

• Tables and figures should be cited in the text in numerical order.
• Each table should have a clear title.
• Figures should include appropriate legends.
• Figures should be of sufficient quality for publication, preferably at a resolution of 300 dpi or higher.
• Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce previously published material where required.

References

BCS uses the Vancouver reference style.

References should:

• Be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text.
• Be cited using Arabic numerals in square brackets.
• Include DOI information where available.

Authors should check all references for accuracy before submission.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Where applicable, manuscripts should include:

• Ethics committee or institutional review board approval
• Informed consent
• Clinical trial registration information

Authors should provide sufficient information to allow the ethical conduct of the research to be assessed.

Authorship

Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.

All listed authors should:

• Have made a meaningful contribution to the work.
• Participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
• Approve the final version.
• Agree to be accountable for the work.

Changes to authorship after submission should be justified and agreed to by all authors concerned.

Plagiarism and Research Integrity

BCS does not accept plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or other forms of research misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be checked for plagiarism or inappropriate text overlap during the editorial process. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted work is original and properly acknowledges the work of others.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal interests that could influence the research or its interpretation.

If there is no conflict of interest, authors may state: The authors declare no conflict of interest.

Funding

All sources of financial support for the research should be disclosed. If the study received no specific funding, this should also be stated.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors who use AI-assisted tools in preparing a manuscript should disclose their use where it has contributed substantially to the work.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

ORCID

BCS encourages authors to provide an ORCID iD with their submission. ORCID helps distinguish researchers with similar names and supports accurate attribution of published work.

Peer Review

Manuscripts are first assessed by the editorial team for suitability, scope, and basic requirements. Manuscripts that proceed to peer review are evaluated by independent reviewers.

BCS uses a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other during the review process.

The final decision may be:

• Accept
• Minor revision
• Major revision
• Reject

Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's quality, relevance, originality, and reviewers' comments.

Open Access

BCS is an open-access journal. Published articles are freely available online immediately after publication.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant BCS the right of first publication.

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's official online submission system.
